**STATEMENT OF DUTIES
**Position Summary **The Deputy Principal - Wellbeing Partnerships and Safety is appointed by the
Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (**DOSCEL**) and is responsible to the
Principal.

As a member of the Executive Team, the Deputy Principal - Wellbeing Partnerships
and Safety supports the Principal with realising the College’s Mission, values and
strategic intent to enable a child safe culture. This position is entrusted with the
responsibility to promote wellbeing through the tenets of positive emotion,
engagement, relationships, meaning, accomplishment and health.

**FTE & Position Type**: Full time and ongoing as a teacher - fixed term as Deputy
Principal
**Employment Category**: Deputy Principal
**Classification level**: Level 2
**Time Release**: An appropriate time release will be provided
**Tenure**: 3 Years with the option of a further 3 years
**Campus Location**: Warragul

**STATEMENT OF DUTIES
**Responsibilities Wellbeing and Positive Behaviour Support**:

- Strengthen and enhance the College’s approach to wellbeing through Positive
- Education- Promote and continuously develop the Whole School Approach to Positive

Behaviour Support (WSAPBS) focusing on prevention, instruction and use of
evidence based practices
- Address legislative requirements to scaffold the integration of other relevant

resources and initiatives for the school community

**Community Partnerships**:

- Strengthen and enhance the College’s community partnerships- Promote and continuously develop the student transition pathways across the
- College- Promote DOSCEL, College and parish links

**Child Safe Culture**:

- Strengthen and enhance the College’s Child Safe Culture- Ensure compliance with Ministerial Order No. 1359 and champion the Child
- Safety and Wellbeing Policy- Manage complaints, risk and reporting obligations

**Child Safety **- Lead in the provision of a child-safe environment for students- Comply with the College's child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other
- policies or procedures relating to child safety- Demonstrate duty of care to students in relation to their physical and mental

wellbeing

- Lead the College Student Wellbeing Strategic Leadership Team- Lead the Student Wellbeing and Safety Strategic Team
- Foster the learning and growth of the whole person through the provision of a
- hope-filled student-centred learning environment- Ambitiously lead the development and implementation of the College’s student

wellbeing strategy, informed by Positive Psychology, including realising a
student culture which fosters:

- positive emotions
- positive relationships and a sense of connection and belonging
- self-awareness, purpose and direction
- acknowledgement of accomplishments
- the promotion of physical health
- Regularly review the College’s student wellbeing strategy using data informed

methodology
- Regularly review the College’s student attendance strategy using data informed
