The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Case Manager to deliver high quality case management support services to young people 16-25 years of age at risk or experiencing homelessness. The role develops and implements high quality client led case plans that achieve set outcomes.

Upton Rd Youth refuge supports young people experiencing significant crisis and homelessness in supportive & therapeutic environments.

Reporting to the Youth Services Client Services Coordinator, this is a fixed term full-time position, contracted until May 2026, based in St Kilda, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.

You will successfully
- Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and participation
- Defuse and manage situations where a resident is displaying inappropriate and/or anti-social behaviour
- Ongoing assessment is made of the client’s issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to end of support period
- Individual case plans are developed in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients
- Undertake duties in relation to the administration and running of the youth refuge and service, duty desk, minimum of half a day per week as required
- A strong commitment to working within a trauma and psychologically informed environment
- Participate in a least one portfolio area team and one network strategic working group to provide expert input to influence industry or sector development

You will have
- Degree qualification in Social Work or related field
- Relevant experience in a Social Service environment is preferred
- A current and valid Driver's Licence
- A current and valid Working with Children's Check
