We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).
- About the role
- We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Alcohol and Other Drug Services Case Worker, at our St Marys Salvos Community Connect.
- The post-holder will report to the Team Leader and provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
- This is a permanent part time position (24 hours a week) located in St. Marys Salvos, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4.
- You will successfully- Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.-
- To develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.-
- Assess client and program risk and mitigate risk in accordance with TSA policy and procedures.-
- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.-
- Provide reports (oral and/or written) to Team leader as requested-
- Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for clients.-
- Work collaboratively and professionally with other services.-
- Participate in sector events and training.- You will have- Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).-
- Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).-
- Valid Working with Children Check (due to location of this role at a multi-function Community Services site St Mary’s)-
- A valid Drivers Licence-
- First aid certificate-
- Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.-
- Comply with The Salvation Army Organisational Code of Conduct which includes an alcohol, gambling and drug free workplace-
- Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.-
- Ability to develop and tailor programs to meet client’s needs.-
- Knowledge of AOD, mental health, community services and health sectors.-
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions.-
- Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.-
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.-
- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.What we offer
