**Vacancy**: Assessment Officer, Clerk Grade 5/6, Complaints and Resolution Branch - Assessment Unit **Location**: Sydney CBD with hybrid and flexible working options.
**Employment**: Temporary
**Salary Range**: Up to $110,843.Package includes salary ($89,707- $98,982), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

**The Role**
The Assessment Officer will serve as the first point of contact for complaints & enquiries to the NSW Ombudsman from members of the public, people in detention or agencies, and assesses those complaints & enquiries. The Assessment Officer will be responsible for managing a mix of complaints & enquiries received electronically and while taking calls through the NSW Ombudsman’s phone service.
The Assessment Officer position provides vital administrative support to the business unit & is responsible for the provision of relevant advice to stakeholders. The Assessment Officer position provides the opportunity to combine customer service skills and analytical abilities in resolving and responding to complaints.
**About you**
- You’re a skilled communicator, including the ability to communicate effectively with our diverse stakeholders & prepare complex correspondence.
- You’ll have solid customer service skills & act confidently in your dealings with a diverse and often vulnerable stakeholder base
- whilst maintaining impartiality.
- Ability to analyse complex information to identify key issues, determine jurisdiction and prepare accurate and concise recommendations regarding the proposed outcome of complaints.
- You’re well-versed in managing complaints in a high-volume environment, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- You will have the ability to work in a high-volume call centre based. environment with tight timeframes & be able to thrive working independently or as part of a team.
