Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Coburg North. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.
You will successfully- Provide case management support to victim survivors in accordance with TSA case management framework, standards of practice and Case Management Program Requirements.- Make ongoing assessment of the victim survivors risk and needs from initial intake to exit.- Provide local family violence response to victim-survivors in the community referred by external agencies or self-referrals.- Develop individual case plans in collaboration with the victim survivor to include a range of interventions that address tailored needs and goals during the case management support period.- Assist victim survivors to access holistic support services and establish community connections, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers.- Liaise with service providers and identify opportunities for networking and collaborative practice for the benefit of victim survivors accessing TSA Family Violence Services.- Identify risks to victim survivors, staff and TSA and bring to the attention of the Team Leader as soon as possible.- Identify service gaps and make recommendations for service delivery improvements to the Team Leader.
You will have- A tertiary qualification in Social Work / Social Sciences or related fields.- A Victoria Working With Children Check.- A current Victoria Driver Licence.- Experience working in the family violence sector (desirable).- Experience in specialist family violence and/ or child well-being work is highly (desirable).- Demonstrated experience and skills in intake, case management and crisis responses.- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision.
