**The Role**
The Diversity and Inclusion Team is seeking a suitably skilled individual for the role of Diversity and Inclusion Officer.

The Diversity and Inclusion Officer supports the department in its approach to diversity and inclusion. This is achieved through input to diversity and inclusion relates policies, plans, projects, and initiatives. The work of the Diversity and Inclusion Officer will align with people and workforce strategies, business goals, and direction from the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) and APS Reform Office.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Diversity and Inclusion, the Diversity and Inclusion Officer is responsible for:

- Providing secretariat support to the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee. Provide support to the People Culture and Engagement Committee as required.
- Assisting with the development and delivery of the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, and underlying action plan. This will include providing assistance to the EL1 on forward planning, logistics, consultation, drafting and design of the Strategy.
- Assisting with the department’s approach to the three APS/Commonwealth Diversity Strategies.
- Assisting with data and reporting on various diversity and inclusion metrics. This includes managing benchmarking projects including the AWEI and Access and Inclusion Index.
- Assisting the team with the establishment of foundational diversity and inclusion processes, and identify new ways of improving current processes as they relate to maturing the department’s approach to diversity and inclusion.
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders from across the department to deliver on the activities and priorities of the team. This includes the Communications Branch, People Branch, Organisation Design Branch, Property, IT and Procurement.
- Being accountable for the day-to-day workflows of the team including responsibility for managing own performance, work and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training.

**The Opportunity**
This position is available to Ongoing Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and APS employees as a temporary transfer at level or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 7 months.
