Our purpose in the People Branch is to provide the human resource building blocks to enable people to thrive at work and improve the lives of all Australians. We do this by partnering and collaborating with stakeholders, using our knowledge, experience and judgement to enable people and business areas to perform at their best.

The Inclusion and Diversity Team is one of 5 sections within People Branch. The team drives the inclusion and diversity agenda and conversations in PM&C to foster an inclusive and safe culture. This includes supporting PM&C’s Diversity Networks, the Reconciliation Working Group (RAPWG), Senior Champions, diversity and inclusion initiatives, training and events. Our forward focus is continuing to embed the PM&C Inclusion and Diversity Strategy 2023-26 and implementing PM&C’s new Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) 2024-27 once endorsed.

- a knack for communicating clearly, concisely and convincingly (including in written analysis and briefings)
- impressive collaboration and stakeholder relationship skills and the ability to work with a range of people of different backgrounds, skills and work styles
- good judgement, the ability to navigate through ambiguity, and the confidence to make sound recommendations/decisions
- dedication to improving the employee experience and curiosity to seek out, learn, and implement best practice approaches

Relevant qualifications and/or experience in related roles is highly desirable. Understanding of APS-wide diversity strategies and diversity and inclusion trends and research is an advantage.

**Identified Position**

This position is required to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and service providers. You will require cultural competency, including:

- understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples,
- demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, and
- demonstrated capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.
