**Position Overview**
To develop, coordinate, deliver and report on a range of programs, outreach and promotional activities for

children and youth that achieve the relevant Service Standards in Council’s Corporate Plan. To work

collaboratively with other members of the Library Programs Team and with Library Experience Officers to deliver

high quality customer service and programs to the Barossa Community.

**Key Responsibilities**
**Children’s Services**
- Develop, promote and facilitate innovative programs and events for children and youth that enhance

early literacy development, STEM understanding, address community needs, cultural diversity and inclusion
across our community.
- Deliver early literacy programs, rhymes, songs, story time session and information services for parents, care

givers and community stakeholders.
- Ensure the programs and services developed are consistent and complementary to the objectives and

strategies of The Barossa Council Community Plan and Corporate Plan.
- Coordinate a range of programs and events that raise the profile of the Library within the community and

increase visitation and collection usage for children, youth and families.
- Identify and develop partnerships for children and youth programs and event delivery with other Council

services and the wider community.
- Work in partnership with other local and regional programs, Public Library Services, community

organisations, children’s services, schools, businesses, non-government and government agencies to
ensure cost effective and efficient service delivery.
- Assist in the promotion of the Library service to children and youth, including the co-ordination of marketing

material, library website and social media content, displays and events.
**Supervision**
- Coordinate the tasks of allocated Library Experience Officers to efficiently deliver child and youth services.
- Assist with the delivery of early literacy and STEM training to library team members.
- Encourage an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Regularly review work practices to improve workflow and quality of service.

**Customer and Library Support Services**
- Contribute to the direct provision of services to the public by providing library customer service, reference,

technology support, collection services including children’s and teen collections, circulation duties and
Council customer support services as required across the service.
