THE ROLE

The Indigenous Pathways Assistant is an important role in Walanga Muru, as it provides administrative and pathways support to key programs that assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This includes our 'Culture, Leadership, Scholarship' (CLS) Years 7 -10 program and the Year 11 'Critical Thinking Pathways' program.

In this role, you will:
- Provide administrative support to the Walanga Muru Pathways team.-
- Provide support with the coordination of events run by Walanga Muru, including workshops and activities targeting future Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students- Maintain existing relationships with schools and other external education stakeholders in an effort to recruit new students, including delivering information sessions as directed-
- Work with the Outreach Team to provide culturally appropriate engagement activities for prospective Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students-
- with the Walanga Muru Student Mentors program - Complete administrative tasks for Walanga Muru as required

Selection Criteria- Currently completing or hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education or vocational training and experience.- Knowledge of the education sector, both secondary and tertiary.- Understanding of the educational and cultural needs of Indigenous communities.- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel or the use of databases.
