**About the Role**
The City of Ryde is seeking a forward thinking and business astute professional to lead our Parks & Open Spaces department. In this role you will drive your department’s business plan and contribute to the development of Council’s four-year delivery plan.
You will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of Council’s passive parks, sportsgrounds, natural areas, and associated buildings to ensure they are sustainably managed to the Community Strategic Plan outcomes.
Working in partnership with Council’s Operations, Engineering & Project Delivery, and City Spaces Departments, you will develop suitable benchmarks and monitor service standards to ensure service provisions and improvement works are delivered in accordance with Service Level Agreements and within approved budgetary limits.
As a leader within Council, you will be a key member of the City Infrastructure senior management team and provide specialist advice and reports to the Executive Manager City Infrastructure, General Manager Business & Operations and Council on operational issues.
**About You**
- Degree in Leisure Management, Sport and Recreation or Recreation Management or an equivalent relevant discipline
- Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to build relationships both internally and externally
- Thorough knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards and codes of practice related to the construction and maintenance of park assets.
- Extensive experience in managing public land, including recreation planning, demand management and project delivery
- Demonstrated project management, contract management, financial management, strategic analysis, planning and advisory skills
- Class C Driver’s Licence
- COVID-19 Vaccinated
Your commencing annual salary will range from **$156,646 - $180,144 + superannuation + leaseback vehicle**, dependent on your experience and qualifications
