**THE ROLE**
The SME Product & Insights Lead is a key member of the Retail X SME team, and their primary responsibility is to deliver new products, tariffs, and solutions for our SME customer base. The products will support SME business through the energy transition while delivering value to the customer and Origin.
A key component of this role is ensuring that the SME product supports Origin's overall strategy and its 3 key pillars of unrivalled customer solutions, accelerate renewables and cleaner energy and delivering reliable energy through the transition
This role will also be responsible for:
- Driving product portfolio thought leadership through expert understanding of category landscape, including Origin’s strategy, consumer needs, portfolio strengths and weaknesses, competitor positioning, regulatory constraints and emerging technology opportunities.
- Continuously developing the product vision and roadmap to meet our business customer’s needs.
- Lead product discovery to identify, validate and solve for hard customer problems that add significant business value across all channels.
- Be the voice of the customer and understand SME needs by interacting with them via listening to calls, frequent collaboration with Energy Specialists, and other feedback channels.
- Work with our SME customer base (for example, industry groups, governments, telcos, corporates etc) on the solutions (energy & non energy) to support them through the energy transition.
- Build and maintain a backlog of Product development initiatives leveraging contributions of people from marketing, legal and compliance, commercial, tech and the Retail Leadership Team.
- Coordinate go-to-market planning with Marketing.
- Develop business cases for new products and making recommendations through pricing proposals.
- Develop user stories and outline business requirements working with technical developers on new product development, product optimisation and automation.

You will have:
- Demonstrated experience leading, designing and executing product and pricing strategies.
- Analytical, commercial and business acumen to develop and present business cases to senior stakeholders and influence change.
- Creative mindset that inspires product innovation and improvement of customer journeys.
- Project management skills to lead working groups across product development, delivery and go to market.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage a wide group of stakeholders.
- Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance or Marketing highly beneficial
