**About the opportunity**
This position will contribute to excellence in teaching, research and higher degree supervision in Teacher Education.
It is expected that a Level B academic will contribute to a range of teaching and curriculum innovations across the School and undertake unit and course co-ordination.
This position will undertake independent teaching in Teacher Education and support the strategic initiatives of the University and School.
Key responsibilities will include contributing to an innovative teaching program, curriculum and world-class research program and design in Teacher Education, specifically Mathematics Education, and where required, other teaching, higher degree supervision, and administration within the School, including in the School’s offshore programs. It is an expectation that staff contribute to internal and external University and School activities.
**To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate**:
- A completed doctorate in the field of Education or a closely related field
Teaching and learning
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses.
- Demonstrated willingness to work collaboratively with others across teaching and learning activities.
- Demonstrated record of teaching in higher education, including initial teacher education.
- Demonstrated ability to teach Mathematics in either undergraduate and/or postgraduate initial teacher education.
- Demonstrated ability to teach across Initial Teacher Education programs.
- An emerging profile of teaching excellence evidenced by contributions to high quality teaching and learning activities, including the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
- Evidence of a commitment to designing and promoting innovative use of technology in delivering teaching and assessment.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity to extend equality of opportunity for all learners.
Research
- An emerging research profile evidenced by refereed publications, conference presentations, contributions to journals and/or other scholarly activities commensurate with the expectations of a Level B academic.
- Evidence of potential to secure internal and/or external grants.
- Demonstrated engagement with the external community, research and/or professional bodies.
Engagement/ Service
- Demonstrated commitment to embedding UWA’s core values of openness, honesty, tolerance, fairness and responsibility in all aspects of work.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
- Demonstrated or emerging record of engagement across the educator sector.

- Active engagement in the life of the School.
- Commitment to actively supporting outreach activities for the University (school liaison, open days etc).
