The UWA School of Molecular Sciences educates the leaders of tomorrow and generates translatable, practical solutions to key global problems. The University engages in a range of international educational partnerships and articulated degree programs. In partnership with Southwest University (SWU), UWA teaches into the undergraduate Biotechnology program of the Bachelor of Science at the SWU Beibei Campus, Chongqing, China. Students subsequently have an opportunity to complete their degree at UWA at the Crawley Campus, Perth, Australia.

**About the opportunity**

As the appointee, you will coordinate and teach in the International Joint School program, WESTA College located at Southwest University (SWU), Chongqing, China. You will provide a single contact point and contribute to outreach and marketing activities in support of the program.

You will also develop materials and deliver teaching in both Perth and Chongqing, coordinate teaching activities including maintenance of online platforms, and assist other staff to deliver high-quality teaching.

You will be expected to travel to China as necessary to meet the needs of the program for on-site teaching, typically through several 2-week periods throughout the year, as well as online teaching to maintain contact with the WESTA cohort. Contributions to teaching the BSc (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) at UWA (Crawley Campus) will also be expected.

Willing and able to deliver high-quality face-to-face and on-line teaching at the University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia, and at WESTA College, Southwest University, Chongqinq, China, you will be committed to developing and promoting an outstanding international educational experience.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

- PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to their discipline
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality teaching, develop and deliver assessment and other materials and resources for units and courses
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive teaching practices to extend equality of opportunity for all learners, especially those for whom English is a second language
- Commitment to participation in education/research leadership through public engagements that promote research and/or education outcome, government and industry
- Ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles
- Ability to positively contribute to team, school and wider University activities such as team and school meetings, strategic planning and program development
- Willingness to engage with teaching opportunities in Australia and China, with some teaching experience preferred
