This role is in the Federal Financial Relations team. The Project and Policy Officer provides a range of project, operational, research, reporting and policy analysis support to the team. The Project and Policy Officer undertakes a range of administrative activities to support the development, implementation and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans and objectives. Projects can vary in scale and complexity and offer the opportunity to develop a greater familiarity with NSW Treasury and Commonwealth Government projects and operations, while continuing to develop project management, research, and policy analysis skills. The team plays an important role to support government decision-making and policy development and the provision of strategic analysis and advice on federal financial relations. A strong team focus and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships is crucial, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

- **You are a clear communicator.** Identifies, develops and implements workstreams within the team and communicate the outcome of projects with relevant stakeholders. You should have the ability to distill sometimes unclear or incomplete information into clear work products.

**About the Team**

The **Revenue Division **is responsible for monitoring and forecasting the NSW economy and revenues, providing policy advice on the State’s revenue measures and strategies, developing and implementing tax-related policies and engaging with other jurisdictions on federal financial relations. The Division is made up of the following teams:

- State Revenue Policy
- Federal Financial Relations
- Revenue Forecasting and Analysis
- Tax Reform Taskforce

Functions within the Division include policy development and advice, economic analysis and research, interjurisdictional negotiation and forecasting. Our teams are made up of people from a variety of backgrounds with diverse skills and experience, ranging from:

- advising and promoting sound economic policy within NSW,
- bolstering the capacity of NSW Treasury to lead economic reform and debate by advising on state, national and global economic issues, analysis and trends,
- monitoring and forecasting the NSW economy and revenues
- providing policy advice on the State’s revenue measures and federal financial relations,
- economic research and interjurisdictional negotiations; and
- economic modelling to provide data and drive outcomes.
