**Your opportunity
**We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and engaging **Mental Health Clinician **to join our new service. You will support the delivery of psychological therapies, clinical care coordination and low intensity mental health to families and children (0-11 years) including people in the perinatal period and those that are pregnant.

This is a full time position working 38 hours per week, contracted under the PHN for initially two years (to 2025). The base salary range is gross $82,043 - $98,108 per annum commensurate with experience and qualifications plus salary packaging, superannuation, and leave loading (17.5%).

**Responsibilities will also include, but not limited to**:

- Conduct triaging, trauma-informed biopsychosocial assessments, including risk assessment, and safety planning, and provide follow-up support, treatment and referrals.
- Participate in intake meetings and regular case reviews.
- Manage a case load of children and families providing therapeutic interventions to clients with mild-to-moderate and severe mental illness and offering low intensity mental health support, psychological therapy and clinical care co-ordination.
- Provide trauma informed therapeutic interventions, including parenting programs, based on current best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice.
- Work collaboratively with clients, their families/carers/kin and relevant services to respond appropriately to their mental health and developmental needs.
- Provide and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTIQ communities with appropriate mental health care.

**What you’ll bring**

**To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you’ll need**:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant health service discipline such as **Psychology, Mental Health Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, Mental Health Social Work,**

OR endorsed specialist qualification and training to provide structured psychological therapy, i.e. trauma informed care, cultural competence, suicide intervention and children’s mental health.
- Eligible for registration with the applicable professional association or body.
- Demonstrated experience in comprehensive best practice screening/intake/triaging of referrals within a mental health setting.
- Evidence of training and experience in relevant trauma-informed mental health assessment and intervention.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with clients, advocate on their behalf and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, carers, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver individual or group-based skills training activities to assist clients’ psychosocial functioning (e.g., MiDBT, life skills, anger management, problem solving, conflict resolution, etc.).
- Experience in supporting clients with mild-to-moderate and severe mental illness and offering structured and non-structured psychological therapy.
- Experience in Family and child (0 - 11years) Mental Health, peri-natal support to parents, Mother-Infant DBT (MIDBT), management and facilitation of parenting programs, e.g. Incredible Years, Circle of Security and Triple P.
- Competent and experience in suicide risk assessment and safety planning.
- A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with team members, other professionals, and outside agencies.
- Experience in working with Aboriginal, CALD and/or LGBTIQAP+ communities
- Current and valid Working With Children Check
