If so, the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) ‘Stepping Into’ Internship Program can help you to gain paid, practical work experience relating to various degrees and related disciplines.

DCJ works with the Australian Network on Disability (AND) to offer paid internship opportunities for university students with disability.

We are currently looking for interns for the Winter 2023 intake. The internship will take place between June-August 2023.

**The opportunity**

The Seniors team are looking for an intern who brings enthusiasm and drive to the role of Assistant Project Officer.

If you are interested in pursuing social policy work with a focus on supporting seniors this may be the opportunity for you

As part of this internship opportunity, you may be tasked with:

- Conducting research across various jurisdictions to support the work of DCJ.
- Whole-of-government ageing policy development and monitoring.
- Being part of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing in a Secretariat capacity.

**The team**

The Seniors Team is part of Strategy, Policy and Commissioning. The Seniors team supports the Minister for Seniors with whole of government policy and strategy.

The team is responsible for policy development and monitoring, Seniors isolation grants, secretariat for the Ministerial Advisory Council on Ageing, and contract managing four ageing peak bodies.
