MARS Recruitment are seeking a passionate Psychology Department Manager to join a recognised health solutions provider delivering services in NDIS, Aged Care, Medicare and Workers Insurance in Penrith or Parramatta NSW as well as the option to work remotley.

This position is a 12-18 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave, with the likelihood to extend as a job share position.

This organisation has been established in Australia since in 1984 and has been delivering Workplace Health, Personal Health and Disability Services throughout NSW This multidiscipline organisation approaches therapy with a mission to empower and provide different perspectives, ideas and knowledge that enable their clients to obtain the highest quality of service.

Your new team:
The Penrith /Parramatta office are seeking talented and driven leader to deliver therapeutic services and provide support to a wider team of mental health clinicians.

Main duties:

- Reporting to the state management, you will work as an effective leader, providing support and running operations of psychology staff and oversight of therapeutic service delivery in health jurisdictions including, Aged Care Programs, Medicare, NDIS and Workers Insurance.
- You will manage a small caseload of patients, providing clinical assessments and implement quality and evidence-based programs for participants with psychosocial, emotional or physical disabilities.
- Work in partnership with participants to set goals, reviewing regularly to ensure you work in collaboration with individual to overcome barriers and optimise health.
- Work collaboratively with a MDT to ensure different outlooks provided and referrals to external providers raised when necessary.
- Ensure you communicate in a timely and coherent manner to ensure participant satisfaction and educate participants and stakeholders on scheme requirements, service delivery timeframes and outcomes of assessments.

Supervision/Training duties:

- Training and induction of new staff members through and post the probation period by assisting them to demonstrate effective evidence-based practice that is client centred and efficient
- Complete supervision and be available to participate in dual assessments for psychology staff within the department
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to staff during 1:1 reviews, including strengths and areas to work, and practitioner professional development needs and opportunities
- Participate in a combination of clinical supervision and relevant in house and external continuing education, in order to keep up to date with practices, procedures and legislative changes.

What’s required:

- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology
- Current registration with the associated professional body.
- You will withhold a genuine passion for being a leader in your field and delivering quality, evidence based therapeutic interventions.
- Experience - Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience
- Strong ability to build rapport and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally.
- You will be a knowledgeable Psychologist who understands how to successfully assess the nature of how mental health can affect the mind, behaviours and developmental status.
- You will have supported patients with wide range of mental and behavioral health issues e.g, depression, stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, personality disorders, significant life changes.
- Clinical therapeutic expertise in a NDIS setting with an understanding of the NDIS scheme and framework - desirable.
- Expertise providing supervision and clinical support.
- You have a genuine commitment towards continuous improvement of patients.
- You can provide an analytical approach to situations and offer ongoing support during potentially stressful circumstances.

Additional requirements:

- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check & National Police Check
- Meet vaccination requirements as expected for Health and Aged Care Workers in the home and community setting
- Current Vehicle and Drivers Licence
- COVID-19 Vaccine + Booster
- 2023 Influenza Vaccine
- Previous experience in community care or other timed-based billing environment -_Desirable_
- Board approved supervisor - _Desirable_
