THRF Group Parkinson’s and Stroke are part of THRF Group, providing support and information to people affected by stroke, living with Parkinson’s, and other neurological and movement disorders, their carers, family, community, and health professionals. The services provide support across the continuum of the care, providing expert information and services that no private or government agency offers.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Wellbeing Team Leader, the Client Wellbeing Practitioner will provide support to clients of THRF Group Parkinson’s and Stroke. This role includes:

- Conducting comprehensive assessments
- Developing personalized treatment plans
- Providing counselling and therapy
- Offering crisis intervention
- Conducting group therapy sessions
- Monitoring client progress
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintaining accurate documentation
- Staying informed on mental health trends
- Advocating for clients

**What to Expect**

**Supervision**:

- Weekly/Fortnightly (depending on experience) clinical supervision for the first 6 months.
- Second 6 months access to weekly/fortnightly/monthly supervision.
- Clinical supervision is based on what you need and can include you shadowing your supervisor on their visits, them attending your sessions and reflective discussions etc.

**Professional Development**:

- Monthly wellbeing team meetings which include training/sharing within the team.

- Opportunities for individual professional development negotiated with the wellbeing team leader.

**About you**
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proven experience in providing mental health counselling or therapy, preferably in a clinical setting
- Experience delivering contemporary, evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions appropriate for people presenting with a neurological condition
- Demonstrated experience (including clinical placements) within the mental health / disability field
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated competency in the clinical management and treatment of a broad range of conditions and presentations, including psychogeriatric and neuropsychological conditions
- Demonstrated competence in delivering psychosocial assessment and focused psychological strategies
- Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically as well as well-developed problem
- solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to improve personal and professional skills through self-directed learning and evaluation
