**The opportunity**:
The Heart Regeneration and Heart Disease groups at MCRI are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to contribute to our projects in genetic heart disease modeling using human pluripotent stem cells.

As a Research Assistant you will optimize cell culture conditions to support the discovery of new disease mechanisms in genetic heart disease. Your responsibilities will include culturing and differentiating human pluripotent stem cells, gene editing, and analysis using techniques such as flow cytometry, fluorescent microscopy, gene expression, protein expression, and animal studies.

**Your responsibilities include**:
Performing cell culture experiments using pluripotent stem cells
Performing genetic modification of pluripotent stem cells
Supporting small animal studies and colony maintenance
Working to support the smooth running of the Laboratory

**About you**:
Degree/Honours/Masters qualification in science or related discipline
Extensive cell culture experience
Excellent time management, organisational and analytical problem-solving skills
Demonstrated experience in any of confocal microscopy, flow cytometry or molecular biology is highly desired
Expertise in tissue engineering and small animal handling is highly regarded
