**How will you make an impact?**

You will be leading a diverse, dynamic, and proud team that assembles and delivers industry leading technology products to the industrial sectors, namely Minerals, Cement and Coal production/monitoring. Our products enable our customers to operate more efficiently and more effectively by real time monitoring and control of processes.

The production manager for the PPA Adelaide operation is responsible for ensuring the targets for health and safety, quality, production efficiency and customer satisfaction are achieved for the end-to-end manufacturing operations and equipment on site.

**Key Responsibilities will include, but not limited to**:

- Own and promote a culture of “Safety First” and “Right First Time, On Time”
- Maintain a safe work environment, a high level of safety awareness among associates, and implement 5S principles.
- Provide leadership to ensure that products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe, compliant, and timely manner that will meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Identify and implement policies, procedures and manufacturing strategies to drive continual improvement in production and performance metrics
- Develop a standard operating mechanism with ownership and review of production Key Performance Indicator reviews.
- Incorporate Lean Leadership into daily work and into the organization to include Visual Management, Stand-Up Meetings, Gemba Walks, and Leader Standard Work.
- Lead your team to high levels of operational excellence and productivity through modern Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Manage demands to financial commitments on P/L, profitability, working capital and CAPEX investments.
- Meet customer satisfaction goals for on-time delivery as well as ongoing quality and reliability standards, working closely with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Engineering, Quality and Project Management functions.
- Develop a successful team by motivating, challenging, and coaching team members, ensuring they take accountability and facilitate ongoing personal development for themselves and their teams.
- Drive engagement and create a climate where employees are motivated to find solutions to challenges, improve our processes and make work easier for themselves and their team.
- Builds alliances across all functions to ensure the goals and performance of the Production function directly support the business goals and commitments.
- Ensure effective workforce and succession planning processes are in place to develop talent / build bench strength at all levels.
- Collaborate with other Thermo Fisher Scientific manufacturing sites to gather and share global best practices for implementation within Adelaide operations facility.
- Management and maintenance of the Adelaide operations site ensuring that all necessary repairs and preventative maintenance is carried out on the facility and equipment both purchased, and landlord owned.
- Develop CAPEX and budget plans for required maintenance or upgrades for facility and lead the upgrades/maintenance.
- Support the manufacturing facility as Acting Site Leader when required.

**What will you bring to our team?**
- Trade certificate (e.g. fitter, tool making).
- Forklift License desirable.
- Demonstrated experience setting and achieving goals, managing time, tasks and risks, meeting due dates and multi-tasking.
- Proven track record to lead and drive a team productively.
- Experience in high-tech manufacturing assembly.
- Good knowledge of quality standards and ISO9001.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to run multiple priorities within established lead times.
- Hands-on approach and some technical know-how.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to resolve conflict.
- Knowledge of electromechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing assembly drawings and data.
- Good PC and software skills including use of ERP systems
- Knowledge of industrial processing or mining industry would be an advantage
