**About the team**:
The integrity branch is part of the Business Grants Hub and Integrity division. The branch is comprised of the Risk and Integrity Strategy, Fraud and Anti-Corruption, Protective Security, and Probity and Integrity Operations sections. The branch is focused on influencing and enhancing the department’s integrity culture to ensure the department is trusted by both the Australian public and Government.

The position is in the Risk and Integrity Strategy Section. The team is responsible for building a positive risk and integrity culture across the department. Our two key risk objectives are:

- Build organisational risk capability (through advice, training, and communication).
- Implement the risk framework, reporting and associated tools

Our work supports the Secretary to have an appropriate system of risk oversight and internal controls for the management of the department.
- An experienced risk practitioner with proven technical expertise
- Knowledge of climate risk management in a government context or demonstrably transferrable skills/experience is essential
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Confident presenting information to small and large groups
- High level stakeholder engagement skills and be able to successfully liaise with people at different levels
- Sound judgement and a strong research, analysis and problem solving background
- Organised and able to work independently and as part of a team
- A strategic thinker and able to think pragmatically to achieve objectives
- Is customer focused and able to compromise
- Able to manage continuous improvement processes
- Adaptable and able to manage change
- Experienced in managing staff (not essential, but preferred)

**What you will do**:
This is a new role within the department dedicated to managing climate risk. The role requires the ability to effectively prioritise tasks to deliver climate risk analysis and briefing material in a timely manner. You will need to demonstrate an ability to negotiate persuasively and facilitate climate risk conversations with stakeholders to meet strategic business objectives.

The position will be supporting work on implementing the Climate Risk and Opportunity Management Program (CROMP). This includes providing advice on embedding climate risk in governance structures, enterprise risk frameworks, progressing entity wide climate risk assessment, coordinating CROMP and APS Net Zero disclosure requirements, building climate risk capability in the department. Concurrently, you will be supporting the organisation with day-to-day risk management queries and processes. Being a self-starter you will help to develop and implement departmental risk resources, training and planning tools and contribute to the uplift of risk culture in the department.

Key tasks for this position include:

- Prepare or edit briefs/risk products for the department’s Executive Board and Sub Committees.
- Provide advice and assistance to stakeholders on climate risk
- Modify whole of government climate risk guidance processes and tools to be fit for the department
- Develop and deliver internal climate risk training and climate risk capability uplift
- Stakeholder negotiation and coordination with different groups across the department to deliver on CROMP reporting requirements
- Conduct the entity wide climate risk assessment
- Management/mentoring of staff may be required
