A leading utilities organisation has an immediate opportunity for a skilled Internal Auditor to come in and lead the Audit function as the Group Manager. With a highly collaborative company & team culture, this is a business-critical role in an organisation that offers essential services to the ACT & NSW.

You are part of the Group leadership team. You are engaged across the executive team, managing the co-sourced panel relationships as well as designing and executing the audit strategy and plan across the organisation. Viewed as a genuine value add to the business, the CEO will be looking to you gain broader business improvements and insights from the audit reports you write. With one direct report, your primary responsibilities include:

- Present to the Safety Audit and Risk Committee on the outcomes of the internal audits and fraud control matters. Report and advise on the delivery of the program.
- Develop and maintain a broad, comprehensive internal audit program to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, quality control and governance processes.
- Develop and maintain a fraud control framework to conform to selected best practice principles and standards.
- Work closely with the Enterprise Risk Manager to coordinate assurance activities across
- Lead the maintenance of an effective internal audit framework and provide related services that conform to selected best practice principles and standards.

**Your background**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in auditing or related discipline.
- Knowledge of governance, risk management and assurance principles and processes, particularly in a commercially orientated organisation.
- Knowledge and understanding of best practice internal audit approaches.
- Significant internal audit management experience with a medium-large organisation or consulting/advisory firm.
- Demonstrated experience in managing key stakeholder expectations and negotiating and influencing to achieve outcomes.
- You will have previous experience managing a co-source panel and associated budgets for internal audits.
