**The opportunity**

The position is within the finance department, controlling function, based in Melbourne. The analyst will be part of a team of 3 people, reporting to the financial controller.

**Main responsibilities**
- Provide regular reporting of key financial indicators (revenue, operating margin, cost base, headcount, capex, etc.), perform variance analysis vs budget/forecast/last year to understand changes and support business decisions
- Participate to month end closing reporting process, assist with certain accounting entries (cost accrual, cost allocation) and supervise intercompany bookings by offshore support
- Closely monitor project financials and provide insight on projects’ financial performance
- Be a key contact within controlling team for reporting systems (HFM/Clarity/SAP), maintain master data and collaborate with headquarter teams and local business to ensure data quality
- Contribute to budget/forecast process
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses upon management request

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- CA/CPA qualified
- 2 years plus’ experience in big 4 & financial controlling / analysis roles in a large and complex organization
- Past experience with financial information systems (SAP/BI/consolidation tools, etc.). Advanced Excel user.
- Strong attention to details
- Strong numerical and analytical skills. Interest in making numbers talk
- Problem-solving, result-oriented, adaptable to working in a changing environment
