**The Opportunity**
As the Strategic Transport Planner and Modeller, you will support the development of Council’s strategic, decision-making engineering action plans informing proactive and preventative infrastructure requirements including new, upgrade and renewal projects and provide support in development of evidence based advocacy documents.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide support in development of evidence-based advocacy documents.
- Carry out accurate and high-quality research and analytics for Council advocacy efforts as directed by the Coordinator Strategic Transport Planning with regular reporting.
- Provide support in the Traffic and Transport modelling particularly, school peak modelling across the municipality, strategic transport modelling, future demand and growth modelling, public transport modelling, pedestrian and cycling modelling and major events simulation modelling.
- Take the lead with innovative consultation methods for internal and external stakeholders, prepare and present visual representation of the engineering models.
**About you**
**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Tertiary Qualification in Spatial Science, Data Science, Engineering or similar with some relevant experience in this field.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in using desktop Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Intermediate experience in PowerBi, Mapbox and other relevant analytics packages
- Entry-level understanding of Traffic Simulation modelling using SIDRA, VISSIM, VISUM and VISWALK.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
