**Why do we need you?**
This rare and purposeful opportunity will allow you to be at the forefront of the adoption of the Circular Economy in Local Government Working in the dynamic Economic Development team, the Hume Circular Business Network Officer has a key role in embedding and further developing circularity in Hume City. As the primary contact and driver of the HCBN, you will work collaboratively with other Council Departments such as Waste and Sustainability, the Climate Action Team, and other Council contacts to:
- Build Circular Economy awareness, learning, share knowledge and experience and integrate opportunities of the HCBN.
- Build strategic connections and relationships with key stakeholders in business/industry to ensure best circularity practices are promoted and implemented in Hume businesses.
- Grow the membership of HCBN by promoting the opportunities that circular economy practices offer.
- Develop HCBN events that support Hume businesses with their circularity adoption and practices.
**About You**
As a Hume Circular Business Network Officer your responsibility/qualifications and expertise will include but not limited to:
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, business, project management, or a related field or lesser formal qualification with substantial experience.
- Knowledge of circular economy principles and practices and other environmental issues how these relate to business and industry sustainability.
- Demonstrated ability to work with small and medium businesses on business development initiatives, particularly in the areas of business sustainability and circular economy.
- Highly developed communications skills, excellent customer service skills and attention to detail, with the ability to respond to challenging and complex situations.
