**What is a Coordinator Waste Response for Hume?**

Working as part of the Waste and Sustainability department the Coordinator Waste Response has responsibility to lead a new cross organisational team to increase community education of legal waste disposal options, modifying the way we respond to dumped rubbish reports in residential areas and supporting increased enforcement.

Duties of a Coordinator Waste Response might include but not limited to:

- Establish and coordinate Council's Waste Response Unit with a focus on improving waste education, reducing dumped rubbish and enhancing customer service.
- Support the development and oversee the implementation of Council's Litter Action Plan and relevant actions from Council's Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy
- Place a strong focus on external communication campaigns, primarily overseeing the implementation of the Keep Hume Clean campaign, to achieve waste outcomes.
- Partner with the Waste and Sustainability leadership team and relevant cross-organisational areas (focus on customer service, communications and local laws) to achieve coordinated outcomes and delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Utilise qualitive and quantitative data from a variety of sources to inform service delivery and make proactive service changes to improve service outcomes.
- Build collaborative and respected relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic priorities.
- As required, represent the Waste and Sustainability Department in cross business projects and cross functional teams and various internal and external forums.

**About You**

As a Coordinator Waste Response, you will have demonstrable skills and qualifications including but not limited to:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in waste, sustainability, project management, local government, or a related waste/environment/sustainability orientated industry.
- Experience in effectively interacting with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Experience in leading/working within a cross-organisational team.
- Proven experience in implementing changes to a service that has led to improved outcomes.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, including the demonstrated ability to operate effectively in time sensitive environments.
