**Are you a skilled communications and PR professional? Zoos SA is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our passionate team.**

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating social media, content creation, communications, and media liaison on a daily basis. This role contributes to and implements Public Relations, media, and communications strategies to build awareness of Zoos SA’s role and impact as a conservation charity and drive attendance at Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park.

This is a key role in the Public Relations team and has the following responsibilities:

- Utilise strategic communications and media relations to positively position Zoos SA as a leading conservation charity and promote Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park products, experiences and events.
- Develop and deploy world-class Public Relations, social media, communications and influencer marketing strategies.
- Create and deploy content across multiple platforms to reach, engage, and educate a broad audience.
- Daily monitoring and responding to social media channels and community management.
- Preparation of media and social media materials, including research and fact-checking of written, visual, and audio content.
- Film, edit and supply vision to media outlets to secure coverage and support media relations.
- Media liaison, including hosting on-site and filming coordination.
- Ensure the media contact database is up to date.
- Compile a range of reports including but not limited to communications metrics and review, departmental reports, sponsorship reports, campaign reports and board reports, including analysis and interpretation of data.
- Support the development of the Zoos SA Annual Report, Impact Statements, and Zoo Times magazine.
- Assist with developing marketing, fundraising, tourism, and partnership collateral, including preparing communications for senior staff members.
- Support and brief Zoos SA staff before media appearances.

**ABOUT YOU...**

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

- Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in communications, marketing or journalism
- Well-developed writing skills and experience in creating content
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadline
- A team player with an enthusiastic work ethic and natural customer service skills
- Good level of analytical and observational skills
- Demonstrated high level skills in problem solving, expressing ideas, planning & coordinating activities
- High level of experience in a wide range of computer packages

Desirable skills, experience & knowledge:

- Videography and video editing skills will be highly advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in a tourism facility or similar
- Conservation, science or research background
- Knowledge of the South Australian media landscape.
