**The Role**
The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is undertaking a periodic review of charging activities within the Employment and Workplace Relations portfolio, in accordance with the Portfolio Charging Review (PCR) schedule published by the Department of Finance.

The PCR provides an opportunity to assess the extent of charging and bring greater consistency to charging across the portfolio. It will identify potential to charge for new and existing activities. It is also an opportunity to identify whether charging is still appropriate and efficient and assess the effectiveness of stakeholder engagement. A range of activities will be out of scope. The PCR is to be finalised by the end of 2023.

To lead the PCR, a project team is being established within the External Budgets, Strategy and Performance Branch. The Branch works collaboratively with central agencies, portfolio entities and internal and external stakeholders on strategic policy, Budget and performance and accountability matters and plays a key role in the provision of advice to our Ministers and the Executive. We do this by ensuring a connected and portfolio-wide approach in our products, services, and advice.?

Reporting to the Assistant Secretary, the EL2 Project Lead, supported by the EL1 Advisor, will be responsible for all project management, stakeholder/entity consultation, financial analysis, briefing, and drafting of the review and related materials. The PCR project team will leverage the expertise and data held within the broader branch.

The PCR project team will gain insight into the broader work of the Branch and there will be opportunities to support activities across the Branch.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
We are seeking individuals with the following skills and capabilities:

- ability to work both in a team and independently on complex accountability, financial and policy matters, and work collaboratively across DEWR and other portfolios agencies
- strong analytical and conceptual skills and sound judgement
- well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- strong numerical and analytical skills, with a demonstrated capacity to analyse financial and charging issues, and ability to maintain and use complex spreadsheets
- strong stakeholder engagement and liaison skills
- ability to achieve results and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
