Why this role matters

The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs.

William Booth House (WBH) is located on Gadigal lands in Surry Hills. It offers a withdrawal unit and residential rehabilitation. The services operate in a four-storey building with roof top courtyard, which is wheelchair accessible and easily accessible by all forms of public transport.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Worker, at William Booth House, Surry Hills, NSW. Reporting to the AOD Team Leader. This is a Permanent Full-time position. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 4.

You will successfully- Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.- Develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.

You will have- Minimum Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).- Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or be willing to undertake/complete during employment).- Knowledge of AOD/gambling, community services and health sectors (preferably residential treatment settings).- Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions.- Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.- Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.- Sound computer literacy.- Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team both internally and externally.- High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external clients- Current New South Wales Drivers Licence (desirable)- Current First Aid Certificate
