**Selection Criteria**:
KSC1 Relevant qualifications and experience in Student Support Services, Counselling or a relevant welfare field.

KSC2 Understanding of and a demonstrated ability in recognised processes, policies, programs and research relating to student wellbeing, including the use of restorative practice to resolve conflict and restore relationships.

KSC3 Experience in the delivery of student and family wellbeing services and programs in a real setting and preferably experience working within schools in the area of student wellbeing.

KSC4 Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and network with the wide range of people within the education and the wider community.

KSC5 Experience in the development and delivery of proactive programs to develop optimism, resilience, organisational skills, leadership, health and wellbeing and interpersonal skills in adolescents.

KSC6 Experience in working in a diverse multi-cultural community preferred.

KSC7 Personal qualities of flexibility, loyalty and integrity.

**Role**:
The Wellbeing & Counselling Team Manager primary role is to ensure the effective implementation of Wellbeing at the school. The role reports to the Student Support Services Leaders and should have excellent communication, organisation and career knowledge in order to provide strategic pathways and partnerships advice.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the direct leadership of the counselling and wellbeing team members. This includes, coordinating and facilitating case referral meetings, reviewing complex cases with the team and providing feedback and support to team members
- Deputize for the Student Support Services when required
- Conduct the Wellbeing Liaison role with two Houses
- Manage the links and contact with external organizations and agencies including Child Protection
- Manage the whole school responsibilities of other team members.
- Support the introduction of Positive Psychology across the school
- Provide one-on-one counselling to students, including conducting risk assessments, managing needs and implementing interventions that are tailored to the individual.
- Develop individual behavior management plans in consultation with members of the leadership team and school staff.
- Provide support to students and their families in obtaining essential school uniform, text books and other school materials.
- Support the transition of students seeking alternative educational pathways and settings.
- Provide appropriate referrals, internally and externally.
- Demonstrate high level communication skills
- Work in a way that demonstrates professional conduct and a valuable contribution to the Wellbeing Team
- Work collaboratively with a range of members from the whole school community including the Wellbeing Team, the Careers Team, SSSOs, the Leadership Team, school staff, external agencies and organizations in managing students at risk.
- Provide support, guidance and feedback to staff, leadership teams, and the whole school community by contributing to staff professional development in order to effectively support the wellbeing of students.
- Advocate for refugee and asylum seeker young people and their families to facilitate the provision support by liaising with and facilitating referrals to relevant agencies.

- Develop and deliver programs address specific identified need amongst groups of students.
- Complex case management for students experiencing serious mental health issues.
- Actively participate in professional learning opportunities externally and within the school.
