**The Role**
The Configuration Officer APS 5 is accountable under broad direction to achieve straightforward technical and non-technical configuration work within an integrated workforce.

As Configuration Controller (APS 5), your key responsibilities will include:

- Providing data administrative support and configuration knowledge to support non-technical and technical engineering activities
- Organising your workflow, making decisions within defined parameters relating to individuals area of responsibility and seeking guidance when required.
- Providing specialist or data administrative support that is informed and directed by your knowledge of the configuration management sub-function.
- Ensuring quality and compliance with appropriate technical delegations commensurate with relevant legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- The requirement to communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on straightforward operational and administrative issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
- Accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

**About our Team**
The Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) represents one of the most advanced warships in the world with cutting edge technology and capabilities. As Australia’s largest shipbuilding project, HCF represents the cornerstone of Australian Continuous Naval Shipbuilding. We work with experts from the UK, the USA, Canada and Europe to solve highly complex challenges in construction at the newly designed Osborne Naval Shipyard, utilising the latest production technologies, including robotic welding. The design and acquisition strategy currently employed by the HCF Project is new to the Department of Defence and progresses upon the traditional systems engineering approach to design, acquisition and project management.

To optimise the technology, the shipbuilding industry is growing and training a workforce to meet the challenges. HCF is seeking a Configuration Controller with Configuration Management experience. They will be accountable for contributing towards understanding the needs of our varied customers and stakeholders and producing results according to their requirements.
