**Role Overview**: As a key member of the Uniting Senior Leadership Team, the Head of External Relations and Engagement plays a pivotal role in shaping Uniting's strategy and business plan. The role is multifaceted, overseeing partnerships, fundraising, and philanthropy, and managing the Digital, Creative & Design, and Thought Leadership teams. The position involves collaboration with other teams, including Marketing, Advocacy, Government Relations, and Media, to enhance Uniting's external positioning.

**_ It is important to note that this position is NOT a Government Relations position._**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the development and implementation of an organisation-wide partnership strategy.
- Oversee the philanthropy and fundraising strategy, developing compelling pitches and managing donor relationships.
- Manage the Digital, Creative & Design and Thought Leadership teams, ensuring alignment with external positioning.
- Establish a partnership framework, map existing partnerships, and foster enduring partnerships with various stakeholders.
- Align with and support the First Nations Partnerships Framework and strategy.
- Lead the development and implementation of a fundraising and partnerships CRM.
- Establish data metrics to evaluate success and provide regular data-led reporting.
- Ensure policies and procedures support quality partnerships that reflect Uniting’s brand and values.
- Collaborate with other Uniting functions to ensure coordination and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership in creating a safe and supportive working environment that celebrates diversity.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Postgraduate and/or Bachelor qualification in a relevant business field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
- Passion for social change and creating positive impact.
- Experience in philanthropy and fundraising.
- Proven experience in developing and leading a partnership strategy.
- Exceptional communication, engagement, networking, and negotiation skills.
- Project management and organisational skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel as required.

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge of contemporary strategies in brand, marketing, digital, and thought leadership.
- Work in a relevant human services sector.
- Experience implementing donor and partner CRMs.
