- Commencing Salary $63,769 or commensurate with experience + Industry Allowance + 10.5% superannuation

Several opportunities exist for Operations Maintenance & Construction Team Members to join our Foster and Leongatha teams. Operations Team Members assist across any area where work priorities demand, working towards achieving the overall Infrastructure Maintenance department objectives. As an Operations Team Member, you will be working across all facets of construction, routine, reactive and programmed services for Council’s road and associated road infrastructure assets, this includes but not limited to:

- Maintenance and Construction of Council Road Infrastructure Assets including roads, bridges, drains, major culverts, storm water and footpaths
- Traffic Management
- Safe operation and maintenance of council plant, fleet and equipment.

These roles may be required to work across all divisions of the Operations department as demands dictate. One role is primarily based at the Leongatha depot in the construction team whilst the other position is based at Foster in the maintenance team, however you may be required to work from either Leongatha or Foster depots to meet the needs of the communities we serve.
The positions are full time with the standard hours 7:00am to 4:00pm, working a 9 day fortnight. Emergency response to events such as storms may be required.
You will be working in a highly supportive, team oriented organisation with a strong commitment to a Zero Harm environment. You will be provided with competitive remuneration, on-going training and support.

**ABOUT YOU**
A Current Drivers Licence and White Card are required and a preference will be given to those who hold a Medium Rigid or Heavy Rigid truck licence. Ideally you will also have tickets and experience in the operation of plant and equipment such as chainsaw, grader, loader, backhoe and excavators.
You must have relevant experience in all facets of civil maintenance and construction and machine operations, including manual labour and be willing to respond to after hours call outs / emergency / storm events.
You must also be a strong ‘team player’ with the proven ability to work efficiently with others as well as the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision. Attitude is an important aspect you will bring, as the team takes great pride in their work and always perform to their best ability.
You will be working on various road maintenance activities and projects across the Shire on a daily basis. The role would be best suited to individuals who have a thorough understanding of road construction and maintenance practices, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong demonstrable back-ground in the safe use of plant and equipment on worksites.
