ABOUT THE ROLE
:


Our Open Space & Environment Department is seeking an enthusiastic person to join their team in 2 (two) casual positions to assist in the maintenance and protection of key open space assets including the Parks, Gardens, and Reserves.

Based at Leongatha (and/or Foster when required), the key responsibilities of this casual role in the Open Space team includes:

  • Experience in Parks & Gardens maintenance and construction
  • Traffic Management
  • Looking after parks and other recreation areas
  • Upkeep and improvements of other council assets
  • Provide safe and competent leadership, labouring and plant operation
  • Assist in the provision of a safe working environment for all staff and employees of the Department in accordance with the regulations of the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act

ABOUT YOU
:


You will have knowledge and experience in Parks & Gardens maintenance and construction within a similar role and, have an understanding of how to safely and competently undertake a range of open space management duties, including the use of a variety of plant and equipment.


You will be known for your excellent attention to detail, time management and the ability to work well within a team and you must be prepared to work from Leongatha or Foster.

Your availability will be between Monday and Friday. Flexibility is required as these roles are casual and there is no guarantee of shifts.

You will have the following certificates and licenses:

  • Horticultural knowledge or experience
  • Construction Industry Red/White Card

The following is desirable but not required:

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
  • Current manual Victorian Driver's License and Heavy Rigid Truck License
  • Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP) or Commercial Operators License
