The following positions are current advertising in Intensive Care Medicine:

- Intensive Care Medicine - Trainee - Job No: CAM18454

**Where you will be working**:
The Intensive Care Unit at Gosford Hospital currently has 14 open beds and the capacity to ventilate 11 patients. The ICU is new with a capacity of 24 beds. It is expected that these extra beds will be opened as clinical need arises. ICU is accredited for basic and advanced training (General Training) with the College of Intensive care Medicine (CICM). Approved training can also be claimed by medical officers registered as trainees with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anesthetists, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine.

**Gosford Hospital** is the principal referral hospital and trauma centre for the Central Coast, with over 500 inpatient beds and 24/7 access to the emergency department and operating theatres. A recent $368 million dollar redevelopment delivered a new emergency department, ICU, nuclear medicine facility, special care nursery and expanded medical imaging services.

**Wyong Hospital** is an acute major metropolitan hospital with over 300 beds providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to residents in the northern region of the Central Coast. A recent $200 million expansion delivered a new emergency department, ICU, paediatric unit, inpatient wards, theatres and expanded medical imaging services.

In conjunction with the University of Newcastle, CCLHD has recently opened the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute on the Gosford Hospital campus, providing additional opportunities in training and research.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Completion of at least four postgraduate years working as a medical officer with demonstrated competence and eligible to be accepted into a recognised training program.
- Demonstrated commitment to relevant training program and related medical experience in relevant specialities’. Work towards completion of relevant college examinations.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
- Demonstrated time management and problem solving skills. Along with Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills, with minimum of 30 words per minute.
- Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
