Our mandate is to collect, preserve and share the remarkable story of the Australian audiovisual experience through the creativity and history represented in film, television, radio, recorded sound, augmented reality, online, videogames and associated contextual documentation and ephemera. Our primary focus is on Australian production and Australian related production.

**Job Details**

Under limited direction, undertake the following duties:

- Develop and maintain data quality standards. Provide advice and develop policies and procedures in relation to metadata and data quality management. Manage the regular review and updating of accessioning documents, ensuring they meet established standards.
- Assist and advise the Curatorial Operations and Accessioning Manager on data integrity, data quality and data management functions.
- Develop, implement and manage data quality projects and participate in testing and implementation of new collection management system releases; oversee the development of relevant training programs for Curatorial and Accessioning Section staff and other NFSA business units in relation to all accessioning functions.
- Work with Digital Solutions, Collection Systems and Data Integrity and Analytics teams projects such as STC and data modelling to provide input that ensures the integrity of curatorial, accessioning principles and archive practices.
- Day-to-day supervision of a small team of specialist staff responsible for the functions of the Operations and Accessioning team, primarily data management functions.

- Highly developed understanding of archival and curatorial principles, standards and practices, data and collection management principles, and experience in procedural development that will support effective data management of the collection as well as maximising accessibility.
- Proven knowledge and experience of audiovisual collection building, management and dealing with the challenges of collaboratively developing, implementing and refining both analogue and digital data management workflows with an ability to assess, develop and implement complex technical solutions.
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of moving image, recorded sound and digital dissemination and their production pathways, formats and history.
- Negotiation and influencing skills of a high order and demonstrated ability to supervise staff, liaise and communicate concisely and effectively with team members, senior management, external stakeholders and general audiences.

- A relevant tertiary degree and/or equivalent experience in a related cultural or industry environment.
