**About the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission**
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is an independent

agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and

services. The NDIS Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers

in Australia and a non-corporate entity under the _Public Governance, Performance and _
- Accountability Act 2013_.

**The NDIS Commission’s core legislative functions are to**:

- uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of, people with

disability receiving supports or services, including those received under the National
Disability Insurance Scheme
- develop a nationally consistent approach to managing quality and safeguards for people

with disability receiving supports or services, including those received under the
National Disability Insurance Scheme
- promote the provision of advice, information, education and training to NDIS providers

and people with disability
- secure compliance with relevant legislation through effective compliance and

enforcement arrangements, including through the monitoring and investigation
functions conferred on the NDIS Commissioner by legislation
- promote continuous improvement amongst NDIS providers and the delivery of

progressively higher standards of supports and services to people with disability
- develop and oversee the broad policy design for a nationally consistent framework

relating to the screening of workers involved in the provision of supports and services to
people with disability
- engage in, promote and coordinate the sharing of information to achieve the objects of

the relevant legislation, and
- provide NDIS market oversight, including:
I. by monitoring changes in the NDIS market which may indicate emerging risk;
and

II. by monitoring and mitigating the risks of unplanned service withdrawal.

**About this opportunity**
The NDIS Commission is seeking to engage an experienced and capable Executive Assistant

to work with the newly appointed Associate Commissioner, in Adelaide, South Australia.

The Executive Assistant will report to the Associate Commissioner and work alongside the

Office of the NDIS Commissioner’s team.

The Office of the Associate Commissioner provides high quality executive support with a

strong focus on stakeholder engagement, liaising closely with senior staff in the NDIS

Commission, key stakeholders across the Commonwealth, states and territory governments,

people with disability and representative organisations.

The Executive Assistant will provide day to day administrative support to the Associate

Commissioner to ensure that they able to operate efficiently and effectively so as to deliver

on key priorities and commitments.

The NDIS Commission supports flexible work arrangements. The Executive Assistant will be

required to work in the Adelaide office for at least three (3) days per week.

**Key duties of the role**
The Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative and coordination support to

the Associate Commissioner, including managing and organising meetings, briefings and

events and anticipating and managing competing commitments. The Executive Assistant will

establish review processes and procedures that meet the Associate Commissioner’s

requirements and will have responsibility for the following key duties:
1. Provide high level administrative support to the Associate Commissioner, including

scheduling meetings, managing calendars and organising travel

2. Establish administrative processes for the smooth running of the Associate
Commissioner’s office

3. Monitor the Associate Commissioner mailbox, prioritising and actioning items while

escalating urgent matters

4. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage requests, organise meetings,

create meeting agendas, take meeting minutes and track action items

5. Confidentially handle sensitive material and information on behalf of the Associate
