As Sustainment Engineering Manager you will be responsible for delivering the engineering outputs of the project within the triple constraints of quality, cost and schedule (henceforth referred to as Integrated Project Performance).

**Your new role**:
**As Sustainment Engineering Manager you will**:

- Be responsible for ensuring the engineering outputs are developed in accordance with the approved company processes and meet the agreed operational needs of the customer.
- Estimate, resource and deliver of the engineering effort required for the technical solution.
- Provide the ecosystem in which to develop high performance teams, especially given the high ratio of new starters with limited general and maritime experience.
- Deliver significant mentoring to the team leads.
- Make sure team leaders are delivering their roles in a consistent manner such that the experience of the team members is similar, regardless of which team they belong too.
- Offer direct training to every member of the teams.
- Create the appropriate resourcing within and across groups.
- Oversee resource allocation to tasks in collaboration with team managers.
- Ensure training requirements, both internal and external and especially those with technical focus, are both initiated and delivered to team members in consultation with their supervisors.
- Develop tactical plans for the execution of the technical aspects of the project.
- Formulate the technical approach to the work to be performed, assign and manage the resources to execute the engineering programme.
- Monitor the progress of the project and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Make certain process improvement is actively undertaken in both the artefacts we produce and the interactions with other internal stakeholders such as project management, drafting, ILS, work prep, production and test and trials.
- Ensure high levels of engagement with external stakeholders, especially around working groups and design reviews.
- Directly interact with the Customer on resolving technical approaches and solutions on high profile issues.

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Demonstrated extensive experience as a professional engineer.
- Experience managing and leading teams.
- Proven technical knowledge needed to deliver the products.
- Ability to manage technical methodology and processes to be followed.
- Experience in the relevant technical tools for engineering analysis and solution development as dependent on role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Highly Desirable).
