**The Role**
Reporting to the Senior Scientist, the roles’ responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Sample management technician
- Looking after the shipments that come in
- Receive clinical samples from clinical studies
- Receive a few deliveries per week 10 -1000 samples per shipment
- Storage is required - technician will be checking samples and storing in freezers, tracking samples
- Maintaining ownership of samples, freezer management system, (sample integrity is of utmost importance before clinical testing).
- Help scientists get samples ready for testing
- Check other equipment in lab to ensure its running smoothly
- Maintaining stocks of reagents used for testing
- Ordering / following up reagents and supplies
- Shipping to other labs (international)
- May get involved in testing if short staffed

**Required Background**
To be successful in this role the applicant will have:

- Minimum Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent Ability to work in a regulated environment
- Must be a people person
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment where multiple concurrent projects must be completed in a timely manner
- Ability to take direction well and multi-task
- Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to quickly build proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Electronic Lab Notebook (IDBS)
