**About the Role**:
The APS 6 Finance Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies, and precedents.

The role includes processing month-end journals including supplier and workforce accruals, reviewing workforce allocations to ensure they are accurately reflected, allocating project codes to track various project expenditures, variance analysis of high-volume data to provide commentary, month-end report preparation and working closely with the Assistant Director and stakeholders to deliver on ad hoc requests.

**Duties**:

- Analyse and interpret statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Manage quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
- Undertake quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions, and justifications.
- Coordinate and provide cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
- Undertake financial administration across the division’s cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting, and accruals.
- Develop correspondence for stakeholders, including financial reports, corporate documentation, and responses to ministerial submissions. Prepare a range of written material including business cases, reports, and corporate documentation.

**Required experience and skills for this Role include**:

- Microsoft Excel skills that will support you in working with large volumes of financial data.
- Attention to detail to ensure journals accurately reflect actuals. Analysis skills to provide quality variance commentary.

**Desirable experience and skills for this Role include**:

- Technical skills in SAP. Strong written and interpersonal skills.
