The Australian Animal Health Laboratory (AAHL) Business Unit is located at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong and is one of nine impact science business units in CSIRO. Our goal is to protect a healthy, productive and prosperous future for Australia’s animals and people by delivering world-renowned science that will further our understanding, preparedness and management of infectious diseases. The ACDP International Program (ACDP-IP), partners with multiple organisations across the APAC to build laboratory capacity, improve the quality of laboratory diagnostic services, and laboratory biosafety and biosecurity in the region. As the ACDP-IP Training Officer you will lead development of a portfolio of learning solutions, including digital and multi-mode offerings, to enhance the delivery of ACDP-IP’s project activities in the Asia-Pacific. Through the development and implementation of high quality, innovative and engaging technical learning solutions, you will strengthen the quality and impact of project outcomes and increase the accessibility of ACDP-IP’s training options to the APAC region. This will contribute to the delivery of ACDP-IP’s strategic objectives and ACDP’s role as an international reference laboratory.

In this role, you'll collaborate with multiple stakeholders to tailor training material and systems to their needs and support a modern and digitally enabled learning approach which will set an example for innovative and impactful technical training in the region. You'll also work with the ACDP-IP team to ensure learning solutions facilitate easy and efficient monitoring and evaluation of project delivery and ACDP-IP impact and outcomes. You'll be identifying opportunities to strengthen delivery of project activities, and information sharing in the APAC region, including investigating options for an online training platform and implementation of the selected platform. **Your duties will include**:

- Work independently to conduct a review and provide advice on harmonisation and development of a central database of ACDP-IP training material to ensure it is appropriate for the context and can be easily adapted to specific situations.
- Collaborate and coordinate with technical experts and, where relevant, key specialists to co-develop, implement and evaluate learning solutions ensuring they are innovative, high quality and specific for adult learning in a culturally diverse environment. Take personal responsibility for client satisfaction, and correct problems promptly and in a constructive manner.
- Ensure that learning solutions facilitate collection and analysis of data to support monitoring and evaluation of project and ACDP-IP outcomes.
- Lead the process of identifying and implementing an online training platform which facilitates delivery of a modern, accessible and digitally-enabled approach to learning and information sharing for ACDP.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to strengthen the delivery and impact of both ACDP-IP activities and ACDP’s role in the Asia-Pacific region, aligned with relevant strategies and vision.
