Reportable Incident Handling Officer

**Key Task areas include**:

- Administration including with assisting in developing & managing our incident management system
- Excellent attention to detail
- Maintain accurate systems & processes
- Data Entry

**Key selection criteria**
- Strong computer skills proficient in Microsoft Excel competencies, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and CRM systems
- Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, use initiative, establish priorities and work to tight or competing deadlines.
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Confident learning new computer systems
- Established capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a team member and to undertake work independently and with supervision
- Strong in interpesonal, oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated capability to contribute to a positive workplace culture and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety

**The Role**, with duties including, but not limited to the following:

- Assist with the management of incidents reporting into the organisations Incident Management System and to the Aged Care Quality Commission, when applicable. This may include engaging with staff & providers, where requested, on incidents,
- Monitor incoming incidents affecting the safety and wellbeing of clients to ensure high-risk or complex incidents are escalated to be dealt with expeditiously, and escalate any delays or workflow obstacles to line managers and managers
- Support the education and training function of SIRS for staff & providers in identifying incidents, preventing and effectively responding to abuse and neglect of people in aged care, and provide information about the Aged Care Commission's reportable incidents handling function
- Actively participate in an environment where learning and information sharing is encouraged.

**Skills needed**
- Previous experience in a reportable incidents environment, managing moderately complex incidents affecting the safety and wellbeing of participants to a high standard
- A well-developed understanding of processes designed to manage incidents affecting the safety and wellbeing of participants and achieve positive outcomes
- Ability to identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement to achieve quality outcomes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the capacity to produce detailed briefings and correspondence
- Highly developed organisational skills including the capacity to manage competing demands and to meet deadlines
- The ability, and the confidence, to make sound judgements and decisions based on thorough research, problem-solving, innovation and evidence-based practice, to achieve the objectives of the reportable incidents handling function

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $1.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

- Australia (preferred)
