Key selection criteria

  • Strong computer skills proficient in Microsoft Excel competencies, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and CRM systems
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, use initiative, establish priorities and work to tight or competing deadlines.
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Confident learning new computer systems
  • Established capacity to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a team member and to undertake work independently and with supervision
  • Strong in interpesonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated capability to contribute to a positive workplace culture and commitment to Workplace Health and Safety

The Role, with duties including, but not limited to the following:

  • Assist with the management of incidents reporting into the organisations Incident Management System and to the Aged Care Quality Commission, when applicable. This may include engaging with staff & providers, where requested, on incidents,
  • Monitor incoming incidents affecting the safety and wellbeing of clients to ensure highrisk or complex incidents are escalated to be dealt with expeditiously, and escalate any delays or workflow obstacles to line managers and managers
  • Support the education and training function of SIRS for staff & providers in identifying incidents, preventing and effectively responding to abuse and neglect of people in aged care, and provide information about the Aged Care Commission's reportable incidents handling function
  • Actively participate in an environment where learning and information sharing is encouraged.

Skills needed

  • Previous experience in a reportable incidents environment, managing moderately complex incidents affecting the safety and wellbeing of participants to a high standard
  • A welldeveloped understanding of processes designed to manage incidents affecting the safety and wellbeing of participants and achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement to achieve quality outcomes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the capacity to produce detailed briefings and correspondence
  • Highly developed organisational skills including the capacity to manage competing demands and to meet deadlines
  • The ability, and the confidence, to make sound judgements and decisions based on thorough research, problemsolving, innovation and evidencebased practice, to achieve the objectives of the reportable incidents handling function
