**The opportunity**
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Lead to join our People & Culture team on a fixed-term 12-month contract. This role involves collaborating closely with state and operational teams, leading various human resource activities and projects. The HR Lead will work hand-in-hand with the People and Culture Manager to review, enhance, and implement operational people processes, making a significant impact on the overall employee experience.
We pride ourselves on being a supportive and collaborative team, eagerly looking forward to welcoming a high-performing member to this role. This position primarily supports our East Coast and South Australia teams and requires flexibility in working hours.
**Key responsibilities**
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Lead and coordinate designated HR activities and projects in line with states or department initiatives.
- Coach, support and mentor a dedicated group of HR professionals in day-to-day activities.
- Develop and deliver HR support plans under the guidance of the People and Culture Manager, including monitoring activities, deliverables, and industrial risks.
- Provide advice and support to resolve workplace grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters, escalating complex issues to the National Industrial Relations team.
- Report on HR metrics and identify trends to proactively address employee relations matters.
- Provide guidance on interpreting various Agreements, Awards and industrial legislation for operational teams.
- Develop briefing papers and business cases to support change or process improvement initiatives.
- Oversee and coordinate change management, training, and communication in line with approved plans.
**About you**
- Extensive experience in providing specialised support and advice in people management and workplace relations.
- Strong knowledge of Industrial Relations and employment legislation at both state and federal levels.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills to identify risks and recommend solutions for continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, facilitating the exchange of advice and early intervention in industrial and workplace relations matters.
- Experience in leading and participating in project groups and teams to achieve successful outcomes in people management and workplace relations initiatives.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective team and collaboration skills to contribute to project success and business unit objectives.
- Strong time management and organisational abilities to plan and prioritise work tasks effectively.
- Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
