About Us

Western Private Hospital (WPH), is a boutique private hospital servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services, which has 68 inpatient beds. WPH’s facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Stay Unit, Day Oncology Unit, Eleanor Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, Nuclear Medicine Department and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.

About the Role

An opportunity exists for a talented HR Officer / Assistant who is tech savvy, process driven and is passionate about learning new systems and processes to take a project coordination and test lead role, where you will join as part of a dynamic and talented HR & Payroll team working on-site in Footscray at WPH on an initial six (6) month contract.

This position will assist with testing, UAT, training and quality assurance for Optima and key responsibilities/duties for the role will include (but not be limited to):
a hands-on approach to system configuration, completing data migration, parallel testing, User Acceptance Testing and providing system user training

providing a high level of systems administration and technical support through Go-Live phase

fulfil role as a HR Expert by covering a combination of test execution, test preparation, results validation in Optima and engagement with iChris payroll for integration

testing and processing payroll exceptions via iChris, checking of timesheet data within Optima including the running of reports, as well as the reconciliation/verifying of payroll results and data to ensure the integrity of the data in both systems

maintaining project documentation and keeping all stakeholders up-to-date during all stages of the project regarding delivery of agreed activities and tasks

About You / Selection Criteria

Experience as a HR or Payroll Officer/Administrator or Roster Coordinator within the healthcare sector

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources

Knowledge and understanding of payroll processes and systems

Experience working on Time and Attendance / HRIS systems (Optima / RosterOn highly regarded)

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and embracing change

Process oriented and able to multi-task and keep up in a fast-paced environment

A strategic thinker who embraces challenges and excellent planning and organisational skills

Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels and deliver on customer needs/requirements

Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure in an ever-changing environment

Excellent time management and organisational skills and be comfortable with meeting timelines associated with a project implementation schedule

**Requirements**:
Everyone who joins Western Private Hospital
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19, Influenza and provide proof of immunisation against, or immunity to, infectious diseases as required per the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic)

Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 6 months and evidence of Australian Residency / Full Working Rights
