As Technical Officer for the School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences, you will provide high-level technical advice and service to support the practical teaching and learning activities of the School.

In this role you will:

- Support staff and students by conducting the set-up, instruction, supervision and pack-up/clean-up of creative workshops, labs, and studios.
- Provide high-level technical support and service to exhibitions, performances, productions, events and activities within the School.
- Provide operating expertise for a range of technical equipment and facilities including training staff and students in equipment operation, set-up, WHS compliance and repairing equipment/arranging external repairs as needed.
- This continuing position is full time and will be located in Newcastle City (Q Building) (Awabakal and Worimi land)._

**How will you inspire us?**:
You will have:

- Demonstrated experience providing technical support in a laboratory environment and knowledge of safe laboratory practices.
- Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to work to competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to build effective working relationships with staff and students.

The remuneration for this position is from $77,858 to $90,316 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
