The primary purpose of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Engagement Coordinator is for the development and implementation of WIL, Industry Engagement and, as identified, graduate employability activities for nominated School/area(s) within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment.

The position coordinates and contributes to the development of initiatives aimed at establishing and maintaining sustainable relationships with industry partners from the private sector, SME, government and NFP to provide WIL placement opportunities for information technology students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The incumbent will work collaboratively with the Manager, Work Integrated Learning to support and guide the relevant academics in developing and scaffolding WIL into Course pedagogy based on industry feedback and best practice.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Maintaining productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and key influential individuals both internal and external to the University to ensure student placement opportunities are developed, students can be placed, managed and supported in accordance with university policy and procedure
- Planning and implementing programs, effective communication strategies and initiatives designed to increase participation in work integrated learning and working collaboratively with other WIL Engagement Coordinators and Senior WIL Advisors
- Developing and implementing practical, accessible solutions based on stakeholder needs to work integrated learning matters
- Communicating with confidence using examples and the most appropriate influencing technique for a given situation to increase engagement, outcomes, understanding and support
- Maintaining accurate records of activities which may include, but are not limited to non-clinical placements, internships, industry partnerships, engagement activities, and career events.
- Seeking feedback on improvement opportunities to WIL processes and practice from a diverse range of key stakeholders and implement change through appropriate channels and overcomes obstacles to change
- Regularly monitoring the national and international WIL space, maintaining the level of expertise required to ensure innovative responses to emerging WIL challenges.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- A Degree with at least 4 years of subsequent relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training preferably in the field of information technology
- Experience working collaboratively and effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and/or clients from the private sector, government and/or community sectors and students
- Ability to comprehend, analysis and summarise complex information and effectively communicate the information to the relevant stakeholders
- Experience working within an organisation with complex administrative structures, policies, and procedures, preferably within the higher education sector
- Demonstrated ‘student-first’ behaviours coupled with strong experience working collaboratively
- Knowledge of the graduate employment landscape and experience in the field of student advising and career education
- Experience negotiating new stakeholder agreements
