Melbourne, Australia Employment Hero Full time

**Plan International Australia’s Commitment and Mission**

Plan International is a global not-for-profit, working to change the world so that all children can live happy and healthy lives, and so that girls in all their diversities can take their rightful place as equals.

At Plan International Australia (PIA), we celebrate diversity. We deeply believe all different opinions and experiences will enrich our team and represent our beneficiaries and partners across the globe. Our commitment to an inclusive workplace culture means we embrace working with all sectors of the community.

**Be the change you want to see**

For 85 years we’ve worked hand-in-hand with local communities, so babies can survive their first 1000 days, so children can learn in safe environments, so girls can strive for work outside the home, so young people can speak up for their rights. We know that girls are the most marginalised by poverty, and for too long have been held back from reaching their full potential. This is why we work with all children to solve poverty but especially girls. We have a long history, but our approach is new. We’re secular, and we view the children, families and local communities we work with as our partners and our equals.

Possibility. Opportunity. Equality. Partnership. Love. Humanity. This is what we stand for.

**The Opportunity at Plan International Australia**

We are looking for a passionate Youth Engagement Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month contract and work across PIA’s youth engagement and corporate partnerships teams. In this role, you will co-design and develop a new national youth leadership program, and deliver the program nationally around Australia, both in-person and online. You will also manage the successful delivery of an existing social impact training program, delivered by PIA youth leaders. As well as program development and delivery, the role will involve coordination and administrative tasks and require exceptional stakeholder management skills as you work with young people in Australia, with PIA’s partners, and with colleagues across youth engagement, media, policy, partnerships and communications.

We are looking for someone with exceptional youth engagement and facilitation skills, with lots of energy, confidence and a positive approach.

Please note this is a part time (4 days per week) contract role until January 2024. Open to remote workers in Australia. **Looking for an immediate start in January/February 2023.**

**What you’ll do**
- Design and develop youth leadership training, co-designed with young people and external partners
- Online and in-person facilitation of leadership training to diverse groups of young people across Australia
- Guide and support young participants through the program in between formal training sessions
- Develop and produce program evaluations
- Coordination of existing social impact training program and training schedule

**What you’ll bring**
- Experience in youth engagement and facilitation
- Experience in co-design principles and practice
- Demonstrated ability in training and developing young people in leadership areas (such as relationship building, influencing, resilience and wellbeing, communications skills, community engagement and participation)
- Program coordination and administration skills
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Demonstrated time management and prioritisation
- Demonstrated understanding of gender equality issues

**Our commitment to you **

**Working at Plan international Australia**

- Hybrid working culture and an office based in Melbourne CBD (Southbank)

**How to apply**
