We have an exciting opportunity for an EHS & Rail Safety Advisor to join our signalling portfolio on a fulltime basis based in Sydney. This role is responsible for providing assistance in the management of business Safety risks and engaging personnel at all levels in fostering a high-performance Environment Health & Rail Safety culture. The role will be integral in sustaining the Safety performance, by implementing and maintaining safety initiatives, codes of practice, policies and risk management strategies.

The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Technical writing of procedures and forms to develop and maintain the EHS& Rail Safety management plans for the Project

Establish a comprehensive project safety governance process to undertake regular formal reviews of the EHS & Rail Safety Management Plans and KPIs

Support key safety governance committees as required including the Project Safety Leadership Team

Proactively involved in deploying Safety programs in order to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement across the function.

Establish and maintain an annual EHS and Rail Safety audit program as part of the overall Compliance Audit Program and preparation of key reports for the Project

Ensuring that the Safety Management System is well maintained and in line with required standards

Review and test the various emergency plans and delivery of Safety induction training

Prioritising accidents/incidents are first prevented, and if occurring writing thorough reports, recording the incident, ensuring this has been investigated and analysed

Participate in the Alstom EHS & Rail Safety audit and accreditation program, including AS4801/ISO45001 14001 accredited EHS management system

Share and communicate information received from the EHS & Rail Safety Director in relation to changes to publications, safety alerts, industry updates and media releases from ONRSR to officers with safety responsibilities

**Qualifications and experience required**:
Tertiary qualifications in health, safety, environment

Extensive rail safety industry project experience in a similar role, with sound knowledge of local legal requirements

WHS Auditor or Lead Auditor would be advantageous

ICAM Investigator (or equivalent)
