**about the role**

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for an **HR Operations Specialist** to join Chevron Australia HR team. Reporting to the HR Operations Team Lead, this two-year maximum term contract will be based in Chevron’s new building at One The Esplanade.

This role will partner with various stakeholders to review and revise our HR Policies (and where applicable, supporting procedures) to ensure they are easy to read, fit for purpose, compliant with legislation and have a clear intent and purpose. This will include partnering with stakeholders on proposals for changes to policy provisions or benefit offerings. This role will also be responsible for partnering with consultants to ensure our policies are consistent, modern, tailored to the employee, and reflect our diversity & inclusion principles.

**Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Project management of the review and modernization of the suite of HR Policies, establishing priorities and ensuring work is progressing to agreed timelines.
- Developing and managing relationships with stakeholders to facilitate consultation and effective communication.
- Drafting and developing policy documents within legislative, Total Reward and Diversity & Inclusion framework.
- Developing robust and evidence-based rationale to support development or changes to policy including evaluation of costs, benefits, risks and opportunities and lead development of sustainable solutions including obtaining feedback from stakeholder consultation and conducting detailed analysis on specialized policy matters.
- Developing and maintaining a Policy Intent Register to capture key background and decisions behind policy elements.
- Keeping abreast of legislative or compliance changes.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

- Experience in the development and review of HR policy and procedures and understanding of Legal, IR, Total Reward and Diversity &Inclusion frameworks which may impact policy direction and intent.
- Ability to align and inspire others by building trusting relationships and creating an environment of psychological safety.
- Advanced and persuasive written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Comprehensive research, interpretation, and critical analysis skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong and broad stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across cross functional teams and external vendors to deliver results.
- Demonstrated experience in project and change management including ability to develop and manage implementation, communication, and risk mitigation plans.
- Ability to think strategically with an understanding of market practice and legislation requirements and strong business acumen; understanding the HR implications of business decisions.
